Oil on canvas, 24” × 30”
August Glow was inspired by the feeling of walking past hydrangeas at the end of summer when everything feels soft, warm, and slightly faded by the sun. I wanted the painting to feel full and immersive, almost like the flowers are spilling across the canvas. The loose brushstrokes and layered blues, greens, and soft lilacs were meant to capture light and movement rather than perfect detail. Even though the palette is cool, the warm background gives the piece a gentle glow that reminds me of late August evenings. It’s a calm, textured floral piece meant to bring a quiet sense of warmth and softness into a space.
